Graphic T-Shirt Project

1. What was your job for this project?

My job for this project was to create a t-shirt design for Laguna Beach- 4th Annual Surf Competition, which would be sold at Urban Outfitters.

2. What was the design process you took to complete the project? Please list your steps below.

I started by making a black oval with the text framing the oval. Next, I created the shapes that make up the wave with the pen tool. I also created the surfer and surf board with the pen tool. Then I shape builded the surfer with the surf board to the wave.

3. What did you find most challenging about your design?

The most challenging part of my design was making sure that the waves were rounded and that there were no awkward, sharp bends in the waves. I also had to make sure that the lines in the waves were evenly spaced.

4. If you can change one thing about your design what would you change?

If I could change one thing about my design, I would change the spacing between the text and the oval to be a little farther apart.

5. What do you think makes a good graphic t-shirt design?

I think what makes a good graphic t-shirt design is something eye-catching and not too complicated. If the design is too complicated, it'll be hard for someone passing by to understand and digest the graphic.
